NK are experts in the field of bespoke steel fabrication, structural steel fabrication and erection, in addition to sub-contract manufacture. Our extensive production facility is fully accredited to BS EN 1090-1/2 (Execution class 2) and has been been awarded the certification which allows NK to CE mark our products in accordance with the Construction Products Regulations.

It is a legal requirement for all fabricated steelwork delivered to site must be CE marked to confirm adherences to the design specification. This includes a stringent quality control & inspection plan involving Non Destructive Testing (NDT) during the fabrication process.

NK Coatings, another member of the NK Group of companies, galvanize to BS EN ISO 1461, thus providing an anti-corrosion coating with a long life expectancy.

This affords NK the opportunity to provide a full turn key solution for the design, detailing, precision fabrication & corrosion protection of custom structures such as pylons & supporting plynths for electrical distribution equipment.

Roads Infrastructure secor

Performance standards and compliance with road installation guidelines are critical within this sector. Fences are erected to minimise risks of personal injury and directly contribute to road safety initiatives. This translates into a standard application of vehicular road restraint systems and cushioning devices (crash barriers and bumpers).

Pedestrian systems are divided into parapets and guardrails. Parapets are designed to inhibit the risk of falling from height (associated with bridges and ramps). Guardrails are designed to inhibit pedestrians from wandering or falling into roadways. A secondary feauture is to improve driver visibility of pedestrians approaching (visibility splays).

NK designs and locally manufactures such systems. We actively work with regional roads authorities and contractors, providing a best of breed solution as project constraints permit.

Environmental considerations are also a major concern. Noise deflection or dissipation techniques are used to limit the effect of a busy road on the local environment. Acoustic fencing has therefore become an important aspect of any roads project planning.
NK offers both refective and absorbtive acoustic fencing, of both timber and polymer construction. We can also provide before and after noise monitoring tests, reporting on the effectiveness of the noise mitigation solution.
